American Horror Story Season 6 Episode 1 “Chapter 1” :- Watch American Horror Story Season 6 Episode 1 “Chapter 1” on Youtube on Fire, I’m not sure what was more surprising about American Horror Story: No Subtitle’s premiere: That the creators and network successfully kept its theme a secret right until the actual airing, or that it actually wound up being a tight, disciplined hour of television and not a sprawling splat like the last few season premieres. I could hardly believe the latter aspect. If anything, it ended a few minutes short. Look, I liked the secrecy leading into this season. Despite the fact that the rotating cast would play new characters each year, the show had fallen into a formulaic rut. All that would change were those roles, the era, and the place that would house the ensemble of misfits and outcasts. It had become rather “lather/rinse/repeat.” Does this mean the season premiere delivered? No, not fully. But it didn’t not deliver, if that makes sense. I appreciated how the docu-series format, for a haunting show called “My Roanoke Nightmare,” allowed for two layers of performance. The talking head “real people” — played by Lily Rabe, The Knick’s Andre Holland, and The 100’s Adina Porter — and the actors starring as those characters in the reenactment (Sarah Paulson, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Angela Bassett). It’s a fun gimmick on a show that already gimmicks the hell out of its actors. Also, this story, while not actually containing Season 1 characters like Hotel did last year, ties back to Season 1 in a couple of thematic ways. For one, the lost Roanoke Colony was mentioned.
